Why we're building this
Every South Asian celebration comes with the same quiet math: hundreds of dollars on an outfit you'll wear once, maybe twice, before it disappears into the back of a closet. Multiply that by every wedding, sangeet, and reception on your calendar, and by millions of closets across the diaspora.
Meanwhile, someone else is searching for exactly that outfit. The eco-conscious bride. The guest with six weddings this summer. The student who wants to show up in something gorgeous without the designer price tag.
The Zari Closet connects the two. Beautiful formal wear gets a longer life, sellers earn back what they spent, and buyers get pieces they'd never find at retail prices. Better for your wallet, better for the planet, and honestly, better for the outfits. They were made to be worn.
Curated, not crowded
We're doing this the slow way, on purpose. Right now, we're hand-selecting every piece that goes live. That means a smaller collection, but one where everything is in style, in season, and in beautiful condition. No endless scrolling past faded, outdated, or worn-out listings. If it's on The Zari Closet, it passed our review.

Send us photos, measurements, and a few details about your outfit. Listing takes just a few minutes.

We review and curate
Our team looks at every single submission. We check style, condition, and quality, from renowned designer houses to boutique and local labels, so buyers know everything here has been vetted.

It sells, you earn
When your piece finds its next home, you get paid. Buyers get a gorgeous outfit at a fraction of retail. Everyone wins, including the outfit.
What we accept
We love designer names, but we love beautiful pieces more. Whether it's from a famous fashion house, an up-and-coming label, or a boutique back home, if it's stunning, current, and formal, we want to see it.

- ✦ Current, in-style silhouettes and designs
- ✦ Perfect or near-perfect condition only, no stains, damage, or visible wear
We can't accept right now
- ✦ Casual wear or fast fashion
- ✦ Outdated styles or heavily altered pieces
- ✦ Items with any stains, damage, or signs of wear
One honest note: we say no to a lot of pieces. That's what keeps this a place buyers trust. If yours doesn't make it in this round, it's not personal, and the styles we can accept will grow over time.
